Famous Chinese Entrepreneur Dies in Car Accident in Albania

The chairman of Xinjiang Hongjing Group, Li Jianhong, recently passed away in a car accident in Albania while on a business trip, with six others injured.

Late on April 30th, the Silk Road Mountain Resort in Xinjiang issued an obituary stating that the company’s chairman, Li Jianhong, died in a traffic accident in Albania on April 27th while on a business trip abroad. Despite all efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at the age of 60.

According to the Xinjiang Tourism Association’s official Weibo account, it has been confirmed through multiple channels that Li Jianhong, the chairman of Xinjiang Hongjing Group, passed away in a car accident in Albania on April 27th at 3 p.m. The incident occurred at the Xibraka intersection near the city of Elbasan in Albania. Due to slippery roads caused by rain, a loss of vehicle control led to a multi-car collision, resulting in the tragic death of Li Jianhong and injuring six others, including foreign nationals.

Public records show that Li Jianhong was born in December 1965 in Zepu County, Kashgar, Xinjiang. He was a senior economist and currently served as the chairman and president of Xinjiang Hongjing Group.

In 1993, Li Jianhong resigned from his position at the Guangdong Post and Telecommunications Design Institute, returned to Xinjiang, and started Xinjiang Hongjing Trading Co., Ltd. with an initial capital of 30,000 RMB. He later invested in projects such as the Grand Bazaar and Silk Road International Ski Resort.

Currently, the total assets of Xinjiang Hongjing Group are approximately 1.4 billion RMB, and it ranks among the top 500 privately-owned enterprises in China and the top 30 privately-owned enterprises in Xinjiang. Over the past three years, the group has achieved sales revenue of 1.98 billion RMB, paid a total of 62.51 million RMB in taxes, and provided approximately 2,500 job opportunities.
