On Monday afternoon, October 13, more than 7,000 people gathered on Market Street in Philadelphia to participate in a grand parade celebrating the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the United States Navy and the Marine Corps. Both the US Navy and the Marine Corps were founded in Philadelphia in 1775.

The atmosphere at the parade was lively, with bands playing, flags waving, and spectators showing their respect to the servicemen and women in the military.

The parade procession consisted of over a hundred contingents, including military bands, active-duty and veteran organizations, community groups, and youth performance teams, showcasing a vibrant display of patriotism.

The event was part of a week-long celebration organized by the non-profit organization “Homecoming 250.” The festivities will climax with a fireworks display over the Delaware River on Wednesday, October 15, marking a spectacular end to the glorious 250-year history of the US Navy and Marine Corps.
