On the afternoon of April 27, a wild boar broke into Jiangsu TV station, causing a buzz online.
Multiple videos circulating online captured the moment when a wild boar rushed through the main entrance of Jiangsu TV station. The security guard at the entrance was momentarily stunned, attempting to intercept the animal but it was already too late as the boar had charged through the gate and entered the green area. Another video showed firefighters at the scene trying to capture the animal.
According to Jiangsu TV station’s report, the incident occurred around 5:20 pm on April 27. The wild boar crossed the front square of the Jiangsu TV station and then ran from the southeast corner to the section of Jinxiang River. The relevant personnel rushed to the scene to capture the boar.
An employee of Jiangsu TV station told Red Star News that the wild boar squeezed through the gate and entered the station, then ran to the nearby Danfeng Street, fortunately without causing any injuries. Another staff member mentioned that the boar could not be caught and had escaped from the TV station.
Prior to this, another wild boar had entered Nanjing University. A notice from the Nanjing University security office circulated online, stating that at 2:44 am on that day, a wild boar had entered the university premises. Subsequently, Nanjing University announced that the boar had left the campus. The distance between Nanjing University’s Gulou campus and Jiangsu TV station is only a few hundred meters.
Workers from Nanjing Municipal Greening and Landscaping Bureau stated that the wild boar that entered both the TV station and Nanjing University was likely the same one.
In the evening, Jiangsu TV station announced that the wild boar had been captured and taken to Nanjing Hongshan Zoo.
