Former “Gossip Girl” actress Michelle Trachtenberg, who played a villainous role in the popular American drama series, passed away suddenly in her apartment in New York City in February this year at the age of 39. She had undergone a liver transplant surgery last year and the Medical Examiner’s office in New York City has confirmed that her cause of death was complications from diabetes.
On the morning of February 26th, Michelle Trachtenberg was found unconscious by her mother in her luxury apartment on the 51st floor in Manhattan, where she resided. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The New York Police Department stated in a press release at the time that there were no suspicions of foul play, and the exact cause of death would require further examination by the Medical Examiner. Due to her mother’s initial reluctance for an autopsy and the lack of evidence of any criminal activity at the scene, authorities chose to respect the family’s wishes.

According to a report by the New York Post on April 16, the Medical Examiner’s office in New York City confirmed that Michelle Trachtenberg passed away due to complications from diabetes. However, it was not specified whether she had type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
Reports indicated that Michelle Trachtenberg had previously undergone a liver transplant surgery, with speculation that this may have contributed to her death.
