According to a report by The Paper on April 7th, it was learned from relevant sources that Ding Rui, the Party Secretary and Director of the Judicial Bureau of Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, passed away on the evening of April 1st due to a heart attack at the young age of 41.
The Harbin City Judicial Bureau confirmed to the media that Ding Rui’s funeral was held quietly before April 7th.
Ding Rui’s last public activity was the publication of a signed article on the official WeChat account of the Ministry of Justice on March 26.
Public records show that Ding Rui, born in March 1984, was a member of the Communist Party of China. He had previously served as the head of the grassroots department of the High People’s Court of Heilongjiang Province and in 2021, he was appointed as the Party Secretary and President of the Shuangcheng District Court in Harbin City.
In October 2024, the Harbin City Committee Organization Department issued a public notice of the proposed appointment of cadres. Ding Rui, who was then a deputy division-level cadre in Shuangcheng District, was slated for a leadership position at the bureau level of a direct city agency. In November, Ding Rui was appointed as the Party Secretary and Director of the Judicial Bureau of Harbin City.
Only five months later, Ding Rui passed away.
