After 30 years, 34-year-old Shawn Hao Wen and 49-year-old Jimmy Lin unexpectedly appear together

Taiwanese artist Haoshi Wen, who debuted as a child star, posted a photo with actor Jimmy Lin on social media on the 24th. In the caption, he wrote, “I have grown up, but why haven’t you aged?” Jimmy Lin responded, “Little Ah Wen has become Big Ah Wen, but you are still so cute.”

Jimmy Lin and Haoshi Wen previously collaborated in the 1994 comedy film “The Kid from the Big Apple” (also known as “Little Whirlwind”). In the movie, they played brothers, with Jimmy Lin portraying the older brother, Pi Shaoting, and Haoshi Wen as the mischievous younger brother, Pi Sha’an. At just 4 years old at the time, Haoshi Wen gained popularity for his chubby appearance and playful expressions. Despite being much shorter than 19-year-old Jimmy Lin, he often played pranks on his on-screen brother.

On the 24th, Haoshi Wen and Jimmy Lin each posted multiple photos on their respective social media platforms. In the photos, the two, wearing white T-shirts, posed shoulder to shoulder, smiling brightly at the camera. They recreated classic kung fu poses from their film, and Haoshi Wen even lifted Jimmy Lin in one of the pictures.

The playful photos prompted Jimmy Lin to comment, “Little Ah Wen has grown into Big Ah Wen, but you are still so cute?” Some netizens remarked that without being told, they wouldn’t have guessed there was a 15-year age difference between the two, as they looked like peers. Haoshi Wen also mused, “I have grown up, but why haven’t you aged?” Netizens praised Jimmy Lin’s “ageless” appearance, stating he looked like he “ate preservatives to stay young,” “they look like the same age,” and “even though he has grown, you still look the same.”

Jimmy Lin’s recent activities are well-known, given his status as an actor and singer. On the other hand, Haoshi Wen has shifted his focus to China in recent years. In 2022, he married mainland Chinese makeup artist Lin Ningrui, and he treats the daughter from his wife’s previous marriage as his own. Possibly due to concerns about his stepdaughter being bullied at a school in China, Haoshi Wen relocated his family to Taiwan earlier this year. About two months ago, Lin Ningrui shared a video of their daughter attending school in Taiwan. In an interactive session with netizens, she expressed happiness, saying, “We are happy here in Taiwan; both adults and children are content.” When asked if they had permanently settled in Taiwan, she gladly confirmed, saying “Yes.”
