Multiple people hit by car near Jixiang metro station in Shenzhen

In a tragic incident near Jixiang Metro Station in Longgang District, Shenzhen on the evening of August 2nd, a vehicle collided with pedestrians, causing multiple individuals to fall to the ground. The exact number of casualties is currently unknown and there has been no official report as of now.

A circulating video shows a man lying on the sidewalk next to the roadway, his head near the pedestrian crosswalk, with a pool of blood nearby. A woman can be heard crying loudly beside him. Another person, wearing what appears to be black and white checkered pants and a white short-sleeved shirt, is lying on the pedestrian crosswalk with someone covering him with a white shirt. A man wearing a construction hard hat lies motionless on the ground with a significant amount of blood coming from his nose. Additionally, a man in a white shirt with a black backpack on his shoulders struggles to sit up on the sidewalk beside the crosswalk.

In the video footage, a white sedan is seen parked diagonally on the sidewalk. It seems that the car drove over the pedestrian crosswalk and onto the sidewalk, with its rear end still close to the crosswalk. Sirens blare loudly at the scene.

This year, China has witnessed several incidents of vehicles colliding with pedestrians.

One recent incident occurred in the early hours of July 27th near Yuehu Grand Market in Changsha, Hunan Province. The Changsha police reported in the afternoon that the incident deliberately targeted a crowd, resulting in 8 deaths and 5 injuries. An informant told Dajiyuan (Epoch Times) that the trigger for the event was insufficient compensation for land acquisition, leading to an activist impulsively striking pedestrians.

Similarly, on March 19th, within a single day, three separate vehicle-pedestrian collision incidents occurred in Taizhou, Zhejiang, Shenyang, Liaoning, and Beijing, resulting in dozens of casualties.

Around 11:20 a.m. on the 19th, a vehicle struck pedestrians at Taizhou Vocational and Technical College in Taizhou City, Zhejiang, leaving 16 injured and 3 dead; the perpetrator was a student at the college.

Around 6 p.m. on the 19th, a black sedan lost control while passing through Lingkong Second Street in Tiexi District, Shenyang, veering into oncoming pedestrians, resulting in 1 death and 4 injuries. Despite medical efforts, 2 of the injured individuals died in the hospital, bringing the death toll to 3.

Around 8 p.m. on the 19th, an incident of a vehicle colliding with pedestrians occurred at the intersection of Kuaijie Street in Dongcheng District, Beijing, resulting in 1 death and 17 injuries, according to the Beijing Traffic Police.

A particularly heinous incident of a vehicle hitting pedestrians occurred in Dezhou, Shandong, where the victims were predominantly elementary school students. At 1:41 p.m. on March 1st, during school hours, a black car suddenly plowed into children near Dezhou Third Experimental Primary School, resulting in 2 deaths and 6 serious injuries. Eyewitnesses informed Dajiyuan that approximately 40 individuals were hit, with 7 fatalities and the driver dying despite rescue efforts.

On an earlier date, on February 9th, the eve of the Chinese New Year, a horrific mass shooting occurred in Zhuoke Village, Juxian County in Rizhao City, Shandong, resulting in 21 deaths. The Juxian County massacre stands as one of the largest incidents in recent years, shocking both domestic and international communities.

Former Beijing lawyer and chairman of the Canadian Democratic China Front, Lai Jianping, previously told Dajiyuan that the current atmosphere in Chinese society under Communist rule is filled with hostility, a direct consequence of the authoritarian regime and enslavement.

He analyzed that economic crises have left many individuals unable to sustain normal lives, while political and social repression in a totalitarian society often leads to the suppression of citizens’ legitimate rights without recourse. Additionally, the lack of official action in resolving civil disputes and defending citizens’ rights has fueled widespread discontent and grievances among the Chinese populace.
