Jiangxi girl accuses mental hospital of losing contact again, official report raises doubts

Recently, Jiangxi girl Li Yixue, who publicly accused a mental hospital in Jiangxi Province, has once again gone missing, raising concerns that she may have been sent back to a psychiatric hospital.

In a video, Li Yixue revealed that the chief of the Kuaijizi Lane Police Station in Nanchang City, Jiangxi, led a group of people to break into her home, where a dozen men dealt with her, a lone woman. In the video, she pleaded for help from netizens, saying, “Save me, save me.” After this plea, Li Yixue has not been seen or heard from again, and the video was promptly deleted.

According to her caption in a video posted on November 29th, she stated, “Threatened every day, intimidated every day. They said if they could make me disappear for the first time, they could make me disappear for the second time.”

Li Yixue’s disappearance once again has sparked concerns, with news spreading online that she has “lost contact with the outside world.” Numerous netizens have been calling relevant authorities day after day seeking verification.

In response, the West Lake District Public Security Sub-bureau in Nanchang, Jiangxi, announced on December 17th that staff from Nanpu Street, where Li Yixue resides, have been “visiting to understand the situation” since the 14th of the month. They confirmed that Li Yixue has been at home, has spoken with her father and government officials over the phone.

However, the official announcement has faced skepticism from netizens, with many expressing doubts, saying, “If she doesn’t show up herself, everything else is just rumors.”

Other netizens have shown support, saying, “Spread the word, go Li Yixue.” “Let more people know, the higher the attention, the safer she is.” “Personal experience tells you, some people are truly frightening! They can do anything for money.” “Injustice to one person is a threat to everyone. This is clearly a warning to others.” “Young people, take a good look before deciding whether to have children.”

In March 2022, Li Yixue went to the Dinggong Road Police Station in Nanchang due to a civil dispute and was approached by an auxiliary police officer named Lai. Later, Lai molested her under the guise of offering assistance. Following the incident, Li Yixue reported Lai to the police station, but instead of action being taken, she was sent to a mental hospital in Jiangxi by the Dinggong Road Police Station and detained for 56 days.

According to Li Yixue, she suffered inhumane treatment at the Jiangxi mental hospital. She was forced to take medication for mental illnesses every day, and if she refused, she would be restrained to the bed for several days with binding straps and forcibly medicated until she was finally released from the hospital on June 17, 2022, by her father.

After her release, Li Yixue underwent evaluations at a tertiary hospital’s psychiatric department in Nanchang and another specialized psychiatric hospital, which indicated “no symptoms of depression” and “no symptoms of anxiety.” Subsequently, Li Yixue filed a lawsuit against the psychiatric hospital in Jiangxi. However, the case has not been resolved to this day.

In response, Li Yixue began her journey of reporting and exposing the truth. After sharing her ordeal on social media, she drew widespread public attention. Currently, her short videos have received 8 million likes and she has amassed a fan base of 688,000 people.
