Each year, his close friend Chen Qiao En would post a pink sky image to commemorate him. Recently, before Chen Qiao En’s wedding with her husband Alan (Zeng Weichang) in Malaysia, they presented a gift to Kimi’s parents, a thoughtful gesture that received praise from netizens.
Eight years after Kimi’s passing, Chen Qiao En, as a dear friend, continues to express her remembrance on his death anniversary. She also accompanies Kimi’s parents to pay their respects at his grave. Last year she was seen attending the anniversary ceremony at Kimi’s cemetery, but this year she was notably absent, mainly due to preparing for her wedding held on September 22 on Pulau Langkawi Island in Malaysia.
Despite her busy schedule this year, Chen Qiao En still posted a pink sky image on Kimi’s death anniversary to mourn his memory. In a video shared by Kimi’s parents, Chen Qiao En was seen preparing a handwritten card and a bouquet of flowers for the occasion. The card read: “Dear Kimi, I regret not being able to come visit you this time because I am getting married. I’m sure you would bless me, we are doing well, and we miss you! We’ll come visit you next year.” Kimi’s parents also commented and sent their blessings under Chen Qiao En’s post: “Beautiful, congratulations! We’ve received the gift.”

Due to wedding preparations, Chen Qiao En couldn’t visit Kimi before September 16. Malaysian illustrator Lin Xinying (Autumn.Ying) shared an illustration of Kimi with Chen Qiao En and her husband, touching netizens who commented, “I believe Kimi must have attended Chen’s wedding, wishing her happiness,” and “Chen Qiao En would be touched if she saw this.”
In fact, Kimi was the first close friend Chen Qiao En made while filming in China years ago. Pink was Kimi’s favorite color, so after his passing, Chen Qiao En has been posting pink sky images on Weibo every September 16 to express her thoughts for 8 uninterrupted years.
