Costco, the warehouse-style retail giant, is continuing its expansion with plans to open 14 new stores in the United States and Canada over the next two months, with two of them located in California.
Costco boasts over 900 stores worldwide and 132 million card-carrying members, including primary and executive membership options with annual fees of $65 and $130, respectively.
The company aims to open 30 or more new stores every year as part of its long-term expansion strategy. In the upcoming months, Costco will be launching 10 new stores in the United States, 4 in Canada, and is actively scouting additional locations.
According to the company’s official website, the 5 new stores set to open in the United States in October will be in Lee’s Summit, Missouri; The Colony, Texas; Amherst, New York; Lawrence, Kansas; and Camarillo, Ventura County, California.
In November, Costco will open 5 more new stores in the United States: S. Meridian, Idaho; Vallejo in the San Francisco Bay Area, California; the Chandler business district in Arizona; Newport News, Virginia; and Franklin, Wisconsin.
Additionally, in the same month, Costco will launch 4 new stores in Alberta and Ontario, Canada. Currently, there are already over 100 Costco stores operating across Canada.
The new Canadian stores will be located in NE Edmonton, Alberta; Lloydminster, Alberta; E Windsor, Ontario; and Wasaga Beach, Ontario.
