On the evening of September 15th, there was shocking news about a sudden heart attack suffered by Taiwanese celebrity Blackie Chen, also known as Chen Chien-Chou. He was urgently taken to National Taiwan University Hospital for examination, where doctors discovered that his blood vessels were blocked by as much as 90%. His singer wife, Fan Fan, revealed to the media that Chen Chien-Chou was originally scheduled to fly to Japan that night, but fortunately, she managed to prevent him. She also disclosed that Chen Chien-Chou underwent surgery to implant a stent in his heart.
According to Taiwanese media outlet “Apple Daily News Network,” Chen Chien-Chou, who currently serves as the vice chairman of the Taiwan professional basketball league P. LEAGUE+, felt unwell while watching a PLG friendly match on the evening of the 15th. He promptly went to National Taiwan University Hospital for treatment, where it was diagnosed as acute myocardial infarction, leading to emergency surgery.
Following the completion of the operation, Chen Chien-Chou was moved to the intensive care unit for observation. It is expected that he will be transferred to a regular ward on September 16th and potentially discharged as early as the 17th.
Fan Fan revealed that on that afternoon, Chen Chien-Chou was still at the basketball court watching players practice when he suddenly felt chest pain. At the same time, Fan Fan was in the recording studio working on a new song recording when she received the devastating news of her husband’s heart attack hospitalization. She tearfully recalled being overwhelmed in that moment, feeling like everything turned dark before her eyes.
When Fan Fan arrived at National Taiwan University Hospital to sign the surgery consent form for her husband and wait by his side, she learned from the doctors that Chen Chien-Chou’s main heart arteries were severely blocked by 90%. Fan Fan expressed that there was no history of heart disease for Chen Chien-Chou in the past, and the sudden event left her shaken, saying, “If it had been five minutes later, I dare not think about it, it really scared me!”
Fan Fan further disclosed that Chen Chien-Chou had originally planned to fly with their children to Nagoya, Japan on the 15th evening for discussions regarding the East Asian Super League (EASL) cooperation. However, due to Fan Fan’s busy work schedule and concerns about the inconvenience of him traveling alone with the children, she made every effort to stop him, leading to the cancellation of this trip.

At the age of 49, he transitioned into being a variety show host and actor after marrying Fan Fan, with whom he has twin sons. In 2020, he announced the establishment of the “P.
