Local residents reported feeling the tremors significantly, with comments such as “woke up from sleep due to shaking,” “very strong tremor on the west side of the river,” “bed shook violently, frightening,” “sensed in the city center,” “felt it at Wanda Plaza in the city center,” “intense tremors near hospitals in Liubei area,” “6th floor resident in Liubei area experienced 3 seconds of shaking,” and “felt tremors at Shibeiping.”

Earlier on the same day at 07:46, another earthquake of 2.5 magnitude occurred in Liunan District, with a depth of 10 kilometers and the epicenter located at 24.39 degrees north latitude and 109.25 degrees east longitude.
