After four years of being blocked by the Chinese Communist Party, a US investigation document has finally entered the public eye through the application of the “Freedom of Information Act.” The document reveals that the China Eastern Airlines MU5735 flight was manipulated to crash, ultimately resulting in the deaths of 132 people on board. Analysts point out that this data indicates deliberate human manipulation, causing public outrage at the Chinese authorities for their four-year information blockade.
On March 21, 2022, China Eastern Airlines Flight 5735 crashed in a mountainous area in Guangxi, with all 132 people on board losing their lives, marking one of the most severe aviation accidents in China in nearly 30 years.
Four full years after the accident, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), which led the investigation, has yet to release a final report, and has also been delaying the annual investigation update report for two years.
Against this backdrop, a previously unknown 261-page report from the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which was involved in the investigation of MU5735, surfaced on GitHub on Thursday (April 30) after American netizens requested the NTSB to disclose the investigation information of MU5735 under the Freedom of Information Act. A copy of the document was seen by a reporter from The Epoch Times.
The document, commissioned by the Chinese side, involved the US Boeing Company that manufactured the aircraft and the NTSB, which oversees Boeing, in the investigation of MU5735. The report, initially submitted by the NTSB to the Chinese authorities on July 1, 2022, was titled “Cockpit Voice and Flight Data Recorder” and comprised 261 pages.
According to NTSB regulations, its participation in foreign investigations can generally be unrestricted two years after the final investigation report is issued by the investigating country.
The most crucial finding in the document is that, while cruising at 29,000 feet (the last 23 seconds before the flight data recorder stopped recording), the N2 values of both engines rapidly dropped below the critical point of engine shutdown. The reason was that the fuel switches of both engines were switched from the run position to the cutoff position. After the fuel switches were toggled, the engine speeds decreased.
Three seconds later, the data showed the control column being pushed downward, and the control wheel exhibiting abnormal movements. Twenty seconds later, as power was cut off, the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) stopped working. At that time, the aircraft had descended to about 26,000 feet. The FDR failed to record the remaining descent process and the final moments leading to the accident.
According to the NTSB’s investigation, the aircraft showed dramatic changes in control column force, pitch, and roll angles before the crash, indicating that after entering an uncontrollable or abnormal state, the control inputs were highly unusual.
Commentator Jin Ran analyzed in-depth the operational chain of events surrounding the accident data in a self-media program.
Jin Ran stated that the core content of the document shows that during the cruise at 29,000 feet, “the fuel …
