Recently, a public verdict revealed that a driving school principal surnamed Yang in Luohe City, Henan Province, colluded with others to organize 5,677 examinees to cheat using pinhole cameras, micro earpieces, and other cheating equipment, making a profit of 2.56 million RMB from it.
According to a verdict from the Xuchang Intermediate People’s Court in Henan Province, since 2017, the principal surnamed Yang of a driving school in Luohe City, along with the vice principal and exam room administrators, used pinhole mini cameras, signal transmitters, receivers, and embedded micro earpieces to cheat for examinees.
The method involved first selecting exam takers to cheat based on their level of education, age, agility, etc., and deciding on different cheating methods. They helped a total of 5,677 candidates cheat in exams, illegally profiting from it and forming a criminal gang led by Principal Yang.
During this period, Principal Yang charged high fees from each student. After the incident, he admitted to illegally gaining a total of 2.56 million RMB.
During the first trial, Principal Yang returned 1.5 million RMB. In August 2025, he was sentenced to 4 years and 3 months in prison and fined 200,000 RMB, banned from engaging in driving school-related businesses for 5 years after his release.
Subsequently, Principal Yang appealed the verdict and voluntarily returned the remaining stolen money of 1.06 million RMB. In the second trial at the Xuchang City Intermediate Court, Principal Yang was sentenced to 4 years in prison and prohibited from engaging in driving school-related businesses for 5 years after his release.
Mainland netizens have been discussing this incident fervently: “A typical case of sacrificing lives for money, must be severely punished, students must retake exams!” “The origin of road killers.” “Thousands of people getting their licenses through cheating, think about how many ‘technically illiterate’ drivers we encounter on the road every day, it’s frightening.” “Similar situations exist in driving schools nationwide, they must be strictly punished, driving school principals should be banned for life, 5 years is too lenient.”
