New York State Assemblyman Zheng Yongjia Sworn in: Committed to Serving the People

On January 26th, in Brooklyn’s 49th District, State Assemblyman Zheng Yongjia was officially sworn in for his second term under the auspices of retired Judge Wu Yuantian. The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including newly elected State Senator Chen Xueli, State Assemblyman Michael Novakhov, New York State Conservative Party Executive Committee member Di Zhongqi, retired Deputy Chief of Samsung Thomas Chan, Chinese community leader Huang Qiwang, and local residents from 86th Street.

In his speech, Zheng Yongjia reminisced about his personal growth and the support he received from his family. He expressed special gratitude to attorney Mohu for his assistance, as well as to his wife and family for their unwavering support. Zheng emphasized that his swearing-in ceremony was not just about himself but a celebration of the community’s efforts and changes: “This is a ceremony belonging to all of you, a recognition of those who work diligently every day to serve the community.”

Zheng Yongjia stressed that he and State Senator Chen Xueli had collectively shattered the “glass ceiling” for Asian-American participation in politics over the past two years, becoming crucial voices representing the community. He reiterated his commitment to advocating for social equity, ensuring safety, and upholding common-sense values in his upcoming term. He also expressed special thanks to the police force and the Republican Party for their support, pledging to continuously defend the core interests of the community and resist extreme progressive policies that are detrimental to social development.
