In Missouri, USA, a man won a $2 million prize after asking a convenience store clerk to help him choose a scratch-off lottery ticket at a gas station. It remains unclear whether this stroke of luck was due to the clerk’s good fortune or the man’s lucky stars aligning.
According to the Missouri Lottery, the man was fueling up at a QuikTrip chain gas station in St. Louis when he decided to spend $20 on the lottery ticket.
“I asked for a $20 ticket, and [the clerk] gave me this one,” the man said.
He scratched off the ticket in the parking lot, revealing the $2 million win.
“I couldn’t believe it. I looked at it at least 30 times to make sure it was real!” he recalled.
The man has not disclosed his plans for the prize money.
A similar incident occurred in California in 2023, as previously reported by Epoch Times. A man named Brent Young purchased a scratch-off lottery ticket at a gas station in Visalia, California. Uncertain which one to choose, he let the clerk pick for him.
After paying, he proceeded to scratch off the tickets. One of them made him the lucky winner of a $10 million jackpot, leaving him in shock.
