Recently, a large curved silver metal panel fell from high altitude into a rice field in Xiangyin County, Yueyang City, Hunan Province, prompting the local government to urgently seal off the area. Aviation enthusiasts speculated that the large silver metal object is likely debris from a rocket.

According to netizens who posted videos, on the evening of October 15th, a large curved silver metal panel fell into a field in Xiangyin County. The video shows visible burn marks and damage on the metal panel, with many villagers gathering to observe the scene.

Local residents informed Jímù News that around 7 p.m. that evening, they suddenly heard a loud noise, causing their houses and windows to shake, resembling an earthquake.

Another netizen said: “At 7:20 last night, the windows shook for about ten seconds. I quickly went outside to see and heard a rumbling sound in the sky, thinking it was a fighter jet flying over.” One netizen expressed with lingering fear, “Oh my goodness, it happened right next to my house.”

Another netizen revealed, “This thing should be rocket debris. The satellite rocket second stage debris launched from Xichang often falls into our Hunan area many times a year. In the past, it has even caused fatalities. A few years ago, it fell and directly pierced through a newly built house from the top floor to the second floor, this thing is very dangerous.”

Reportedly, after the unidentified metal object fell from high altitude, the local armed forces immediately sealed off the scene.

On the morning of the 16th, local officials stated that the incident did not cause any casualties or property damage. However, they did not mention the specific details of the metal object.

After seeing photos of the scene, some aviation enthusiasts speculated that this mysterious metal object is likely debris from a satellite fairing.
