On October 8, 2024, as Taiwan’s National Day approaches, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China pointed out today that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) will launch a carrier rocket from Xichang on October 10, passing through Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China released information about the dynamic situation of CCP military aircraft this morning. From 6 a.m. on the 7th to 6 a.m. today, a total of 12 CCP military aircraft sorties were detected, including 8 instances crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait and its extension into the southwest airspace, as well as 7 CCP naval vessel sorties, continuing activities around the Taiwan Strait.

The Republic of China’s Ministry of National Defense stated that the military is using aircraft and coastal missile systems to closely monitor and respond to the situation.

In addition, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China also indicated that the CCP will execute a carrier rocket launch from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center on October 10, flying towards the western Pacific and passing through Taiwan’s ADIZ.

In the Legislative Yuan today, questioning of the Premier was ongoing. Regarding the statements made by lawmaker Yeh Yun-chih, Premier Cho Rong-tai affirmed that the announcement of the CCP’s rocket launch by the Ministry of National Defense aimed to assure the public that the government is well aware of all situations.

Yeh Yun-chih raised concerns about the actions taken by the government in response to the CCP’s “Sword of Unification-2024B” missile launch that was disclosed by national security agencies.

Premier Cho Rong-tai stated that on Taiwan’s National Day, heightened security measures will be implemented to ensure national defense. He expressed hopes for restraint from the CCP concerning actions that may jeopardize regional and Indo-Pacific security stability. Taiwan will be prepared, with military units keeping close tabs on the situation to prevent any threats to the people. Let’s have a detailed understanding and monitoring of all processes with no intention to threaten the public.
