Overzealous fan sneaks into car trunk to secretly film Wang Junkai, sparking public outrage.

26-year-old mainland Chinese celebrity Wang Junkai recently held a concert in Guangzhou, where he was secretly filmed by a sasaeng fan who had hidden inside the trunk of his car after the event. Not only did the woman upload the stolen footage to a short video platform, but she also brazenly flaunted her actions, sparking outrage among netizens who criticized her for breaking the law rather than simply idolizing the star.

Wang Junkai’s “Tidal Overflow” concert tour in Guangzhou took place from August 15th to August 16th at the Guangzhou Baoneng International Sports and Performing Arts Center, drawing a large crowd of fans to show their support. The venue was packed, with fans lingering outside long after the concert ended.

Interestingly, a sasaeng fan who had apparently staked out the parking lot for a while took advantage of the driver briefly stepping away from the vehicle to sneak into Wang Junkai’s car trunk without permission, getting up close to secretly film the artist.

In the leaked footage, Wang Junkai can be seen wearing a fisherman’s hat and a mask, resting inside the car seemingly unaware of being filmed. The woman who recorded the footage captioned it with “The first thing my baby sees when waking up, staring into my camera lens. I love you so much.” What’s more audacious is that she sarcastically commented while uploading the trunk-captured video, saying, “Is it fun being the landlord, Little Kai brother?”

Following the video’s exposure, fans and netizens took to social media to condemn the woman, stating that her actions were illegal rather than just being a fan. Some pointed out that this sasaeng fan had been stalking Wang Junkai for a long time, even resorting to secretly filming inside the aircraft cabin, which is extremely disturbing. Fans demanded that Wang Junkai’s studio take immediate action, involving the police in holding the perpetrator accountable.

Due to the car trunk being considered a private space, legal experts have indicated that this act of secretly filming seriously violates Wang Junkai’s privacy and right to a peaceful life. Actions such as tracking, harassment, and entanglement are clearly illegal and could result in a detention of 5 to 10 days as well as a fine. Additionally, some fans questioned why the driver had left the car doors unlocked and hadn’t checked the car trunk, leading to suspicions of potential bribery or itinerary leaks among the staff.
