According to a report on the website of the CCP Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervision Commission, Wang Qiang, former member of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law. He voluntarily surrendered and is currently under disciplinary review and supervision investigation by the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Discipline and Supervision.
Public records show that Wang Qiang was born in October 1965 in Dongyang, Zhejiang. He started working in April 1991 and holds a Master of Laws degree and is an economist. He has been working in Shenzhen for a long time.
In November 1996, Wang Qiang was appointed as the manager of the Appointment and Dismissal Office of the Personnel Department of the state-owned enterprise Shenzhen Special Issue Group, and later served as Vice General Manager and Director of Special Issue Liming Optoelectronics (Group) Company.
In August 2002, Wang Qiang became a member of the Party Committee of the Shenzhen General Federation of Trade Unions and was appointed as Vice Chairman in November of the same year. In 2006, Wang Qiang was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the Futian District Committee of Shenzhen and Minister of the Propaganda Department. In 2011, he served as Deputy Secretary and Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee of the Futian District Committee, and in 2013 he became the District Head of Futian District.
In August 2015, Wang Qiang was appointed as the District Head of Nanshan District, and in 2017 he became the Secretary of the Nanshan District Committee.
From July 2020 to October 2021, Wang Qiang served as a member of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department. In October 2021, he was appointed as a member of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department.
