Wang Lihua, a veteran and human rights activist from Hebei Province, and his family have been persecuted for their activism, resulting in the destruction of their family. Wang Lihua expressed that for the past 25 years, he has struggled under the rule of the Communist Party, living in hellish conditions and declaring he does not wish to be Chinese in the next life.
Wang Lihua, born in 1972 in Fengnan District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province, served in the Second Artillery Corps of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. His parents, retired officials from the Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Bureau of Fengnan District, include his father, Wang Hewu, a senior agronomist and former Communist Party member who withdrew from the party in 2009, and his mother, Zhang Shulan, a senior livestock supervisor.
Wang Lihua began his activism due to a serious medical accident and faced various suppressions and persecutions during his advocacy efforts. His mother was frightened into mental illness and passed away in 2009, his father passed away in 2017 due to a medical accident in the hospital, and the whereabouts of his body remain a mystery. In 2021, in grief and anger, Wang Lihua wrote a book detailing his family’s experiences titled “20 Years of Hell in China” and registered on X (formerly Twitter), where he posted the article and linked it to his blog, drawing the attention of the Ministry of Public Security and facing further suppression.
Recently, Wang Lihua shared his ordeal with a reporter from Epoch Times.
In 2022, he published an article titled “20 Years of Hell in China” on Twitter for the first time, which was classified by the Ministry of Public Security as a major case, accusing him of insulting the Chinese Communist Party and summoning him for questioning.
On March 2022, Wang was visited by Tian Shupeng, Vice Director of Fengnan District Public Security Bureau, and Sun Hongguang from Xugezhuang Police Station due to his Twitter posts. Wang explained his life story in detail to Tian Shupeng, emphasizing that he only shared his experiences and evidence for seeking justice. Wang firmly believes in leaving a mark in this world and not silently disappearing.
In October 2022, during the opening day of the 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, officers led by Fu Baofeng, captain of the Criminal Investigation Brigade 5 of Fengnan District Public Security Bureau, forcibly took Wang to the police station for questioning. Despite his responsibilities in caring for his son who couldn’t take care of himself due to a ruptured ankle ligament, Wang was detained and interrogated. The officers demanded Wang’s compliance in deleting his controversial tweets.
Wang refused to sign any documents and faced further repression. The authorities cited “insulting the Chinese Communist Party” as the reason for his detention, causing Wang to endure physical examinations despite his health conditions. He was eventually sent to the detention center on the evening despite health issues.
During his detention, Wang was repeatedly interrogated about his Twitter activities. Wang demanded to meet with Jia Baozhong, Director of Fengnan District Public Security Bureau, but his request was denied. Despite claiming innocence in his intentions of advocating for rights and justice, Wang was charged with insulting the party and subsequently detained for 20 days.
After being released from detention, Wang continued to defy the authorities, showcasing his unwavering commitment to his cause. Despite facing threats and coercion, Wang remains steadfast in seeking justice for himself and his deceased parents, who were also victims of the system.
In conclusion, Wang Lihua emphasized the importance of dignity in life and death, condemning the oppressive practices of the Chinese Communist Party that have stripped individuals of their fundamental rights and humanity. Wang firmly believes that living under the rule of the Communist Party resembles hell for himself and his family, with their lives, health, and property rights continuously under threat and unjustly deprived.
