Du Chun’s wife encounters troubles with online shopping, claims customer service used address to threaten her.

On March 31st, Wang Can, the actress wife of mainland Chinese actor Du Chun, took to her social media account to vent about her unpleasant online shopping experience, specifically mentioning being threatened by customer service representatives. The incident quickly went viral online, sparking widespread attention and discussion.

Wang Can, who often shares her daily life on social media platforms, wrote a lengthy post on March 31st detailing how she recently purchased some clothes online, only to find out upon receiving them that the actual items were vastly different from what was shown in the pictures. She complained about the outrageous makeup products, such as lipstick colors not matching and pre-orders taking 15 to 30 days to arrive, often past the relevant season, making them unwearable after a few days.

She emphasized that the clothes she bought were not cheap. She clarified that her intention in highlighting this was not to show off wealth but to address concerns about users accusing her of buying low-quality goods while expecting premium items. She expressed her confusion over why expensive clothes from certain merchants turned out to be unwearable due to poor design.

What further angered her was that when she confronted customer service about receiving subpar clothing, instead of apologizing and addressing the issue properly, the staff member responded by saying, “I know where you live,” in a threatening manner, silencing her.

Wang Can remarked, “Everyone is facing challenges, both in maintaining a brand and earning a living as consumers. Can we try to understand and tolerate each other, but can it be built on a foundation of trust?”

By exposing her frustrating online shopping experience, Wang Can initially sought support and empathy from netizens. However, to her surprise, she faced criticism from many online users: “This actor’s family frequently attracts attention for criticizing others. It’s okay to point out faults once or twice, but every time?”; “As a public figure, why reveal true identities for a simple matter? Even regular people don’t use real names.”; “Always complaining about this or that, isn’t there any fault on your end?”

Some netizens seemed to find Wang Can “troublesome” and “chatty.” Under public pressure, Wang Can deleted the post, and currently, the Weibo status is no longer visible.

Last year, Wang Can shared on Weibo an incident where she suffered burns at a Beijing restaurant due to a mishap with a boiling hot pot of soup. She switched seats with her child, thinking it was where the food was served. The pot suddenly broke, causing the scalding hot soup to spill over her left side from the arm to the thigh, leaving her in excruciating pain.

From the photos Wang Can posted at the time, the spilled soup covered the floor and splattered on the table and chairs, with visible chili peppers floating around. Her chest and arms were severely red, even swollen. She mentioned ordering boiled fish slices, and the pot contained boiling oil.

Many netizens shared similar experiences or offered recovery suggestions to Wang Can. She emphasized the importance of not sitting nearest to where food is served, especially for children, pregnant women, and the elderly, based on her ordeal. She stressed, “It was fortunate my child and I switched seats today; otherwise, the consequences could have been unimaginable.”

Public records indicate that Wang Can is the wife of actor Du Chun. On January 1, 2021, Du Chun announced their marriage on Weibo, and the same year confirmed becoming a father. Wang Can has appeared with Du Chun on shows like “Mother-in-Law and Mother” Season 2, “The Taste of Familiarity,” and “Men Doing Housework” Season 4.
