104-year-old American woman visits prison to fulfill birthday wish

In a heartwarming story from Livingston County in the southwest of New York State, a centenarian named Loretta was recently escorted into a prison cell, not for any wrongdoing but to fulfill her 104th birthday wish of visiting a jail.

According to a post on February 10th by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook, Loretta, a resident of a nursing home, celebrated her 104th birthday on February 8th.

When asked about her wish, Loretta replied that she wanted to “see inside one of our jails” as she had never been to a prison before.

Before Loretta’s tour began, the prison staff celebrated her with coffee and cake. She shared that the secret to her longevity is to “mind your own business!”

The Facebook post stated, “Loretta toured our jail facilities and had a great time. We were glad to make her birthday wish come true!”

The post also shared photos of Loretta during her visit to the prison and interacting with the guards.

A similar heartwarming tale of a centenarian’s desire had previously unfolded in Australia.

As previously reported by Epoch Times

, the Victoria Police Department in Australia posted on Facebook on August 21, 2022, that they sent three officers to a nursing home to “arrest” 100-year-old centenarian Jean Bicketon, who was delighted by the playful gesture.

This was because the retired nurse had expressed a wish to be “arrested” by the police. Having lived a law-abiding life without ever being in trouble with the law, she wanted to experience what it feels like to be “arrested” at least once in her lifetime.

Upon learning of her wish, the police dispatched three young officers to help fulfill her dream.
