Eason Chan Faints and Suffers Injury While Playing Tennis

Eason Chan collapsed due to heatstroke while playing tennis on the 10th and was hospitalized for treatment. After a week of emergency medical care, his company announced his recovery progress today (17th), stating that he will need a further 6 weeks of recovery time. As a result, the six concerts of the “Fear and Dreams” tour scheduled for July in Foshan will be postponed.

The “FEAR AND DREAMS” world tour organized by Eason Chan was originally set to have six performances starting on June 14th in Chongqing, China. Not long ago, due to a chin injury that required over 30 stitches after Eason Chan hit his chin, the solo concert was postponed. Now, even the six concerts scheduled for Foshan starting on July 12th, 2024, have been affected by the delay.

Eason Chan’s manager, Gan Jingjing, stated today that after a week of professional medical treatment and attentive care by the medical team, Eason is currently progressing well in his recovery. In another two days, he should be able to leave the hospital and return home to recuperate. After medical team examinations and evaluations, it was determined that the cracked bone will need time to naturally heal, requiring a six-week recovery period. Doctors recommend that Eason allow his body sufficient time to rest and undergo physical rehabilitation to ensure that the quality of his future performances is not compromised.

Therefore, the team regretfully announced today that the six Fear and Dreams concerts in Foshan originally scheduled for July 12-14 and 19-21, 2024, will be postponed to January 2025.

Gan Jingjing also revealed that Eason’s mental state is good, and the wound has been stitched up. “We hope he will fully recover before resuming performances. The doctors are very professional, and the wound is healing well. The wound is just a faint line, and he can only consume liquid foods for now, such as porridge and soft foods like winter melon, eggs, minced meat, etc., to allow the jawbone’s fractured area to rest and heal naturally.”

She further disclosed that Eason Chan has only lost a little weight and everyone should not worry. “His mental and physical strength are all good, he just can’t chew solid food vigorously for the time being and should also avoid talking too much.”

Gan Jingjing admitted that the postponement has caused disappointment and inconvenience to affected fans and sincerely apologized, asking for everyone’s understanding. Details regarding the postponement (including the new dates) and compensation arrangements will be announced by the organizers.
