New York university students in praise of North Korea’s aid to Palestine.

Recently, anti-Israel student protests are continuing at major universities in New York. On Sunday, May 5th, a female student at a New York university used a bullhorn during a protest to praise North Korea’s “consistent opposition to Israel.” The day before, media exposed a pro-communist radical organization leader from “People’s Forum” meeting with Columbia University students occupying academic buildings, vowing to “recreate the summer of 2020.”

According to a video posted by citizen journalist Stu on Platform X, a young woman who appeared to be a New York University (NYU) student praised North Korea during an anti-Israel speech.

“For decades, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea, DPRK) has been actively arming and training the Palestinian resistance movement,” the woman, wearing a black mask and a pink hat, said. “So while the US is training (Israeli occupation forces) and police here, North Korea is training Palestinian resistance forces.”

The woman also stated that North Korea “has never recognized the state of Israel,” which garnered some applause. She went on to say that North Korea and Palestine share a “common history of repression,” so they have a shared history of resistance, linking North Korea and Palestine together, claiming that “North Korea is better than America because they train Palestinian terrorists.”

The video has received over 2 million views and sparked significant opposition.

Queens Councilmember Vickie Paladino tweeted, “Any educational institution promoting such crazy ideas should be completely dismantled; these people are not good people.”

John Azizi, an individual with an Arab surname who shared the video, expressed, “I’d rather activists not praise North Korea; Palestine should not seek any help from that country; I hope the future Palestine has nothing in common with that hellhole called North Korea.”

According to research from the Washington-based think tank Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), on January 8, 2024, South Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) confirmed that Hamas used weapons from North Korea in their attack on Israel.

Furthermore, media outlet Washington Free Beacon reported that before Columbia University students occupied the Hamilton building on April 29, approximately 100 people visited the Manhattan office of the radical organization “People’s Forum” associated with the Chinese Communist Party. The organization’s executive director, Manolo De Los Santos, urged for giving Biden “a hot summer” and making the country’s normal politics unsustainable.

He referenced the “summer of 2020,” alluding to the nationwide violent protests triggered by the killing of Black man George Floyd by a white police officer on May 25 of that year.

Los Santos also said, “People’s Forum supports our students to keep the tent camp going for as long as possible.”

It is evident from the People’s Forum website that they openly oppose Israel, celebrate Hamas’s victories, and propagate pro-China rhetoric in US-China relations, with funding believed to come from pro-Communist businessmen residing in China.
