Orange County Irvine Chinese School Graduation Ceremony Showcases Achievements

Orange County En Chinese School held its graduation ceremony on May 19th at En Tai Fook Church in Irvine. The director of the Orange County Chinese Community Service Center, Xiao Beiru, Overseas Chinese Affairs Advisory Committee member Huang Hefen, teachers, students, and parents of En Chinese School, with nearly a hundred people in attendance, gathered to witness the important moment for the graduating students.

Principal Lin Ruimei presided over the ceremony, congratulating all the graduates warmly and thanking the parents and teachers for their hard work. She emphasized that in addition to teaching Mandarin, the Chinese school is also an important place for passing down Chinese culture and guiding students in understanding the spirit of the Bible.

Xiao Beiru delivered a speech, describing En as a warm big family where teachers, students, and parents learn and communicate with each other. She encouraged everyone to utilize the resources of the Global Chinese Network’s e-books to continue improving their Mandarin abilities, mentioning the potential for future opportunities to volunteer as English service camp volunteers in Taiwan.

During the ceremony, the school arranged fantastic cultural performances, including singing and recitation of idioms and poems. The highlight was the performance by the “Say, Learn, and Sing Three-and-a-Half Sentences” group of students, accompanied by drumbeats and triangles, which brought laughter to everyone present. Even the parents in the audience felt the charm of Chinese culture and the Mandarin proficiency of the students. Principal Lin mentioned that many parents have also joined the school’s “Taiwanese Mandarin Learning Center.”

The ceremony concluded amidst enthusiastic applause after the commendation of outstanding students and the presentation of several awards.
