Recently, the incident of mixed-loading of oil tankers on the mainland has continued to escalate.
On July 12th, it was reported on the mainland’s social media platforms that the Weibo account of reporter Han Futao from “New Jing Bao” was deactivated. Popular blogger “Huang Jiaoshu” with 304,000 followers revealed on Weibo, “Someone messaged me saying that Han Futao from New Jing Bao is missing and has deleted all of his Weibo posts, whether it was voluntarily or involuntarily, it feels very complicated.”
Popular Weibo user “Wanghu’s Bridge” with 753,000 followers expressed, “Sincerely hope Mr. Han Futao is safe. The current situation really doesn’t seem to reason like the iron fist.”
Weibo user “Langzi Technology” with 1.159 million followers reposted a screenshot and commented, “Everyone, rest assured, the food safety issue has been ‘resolved'”, referring to Han Futao’s Weibo being “disappeared.”
Many netizens also commented that there seems to be a problem with Han Futao’s Weibo account. One netizen asked, “Why is his Weibo gone?” Another netizen replied, “If they can’t solve the problem, can they not solve the person who raises the problem?”
A screenshot of the account “User 1360870545” was uploaded by netizens, showing “This account has been closed upon user’s request and can no longer be viewed.”
Netizens left comments such as, “Where is Han Futao from New Jing Bao?”, “May I ask why you closed reporter Han’s Weibo account?”
However, some netizens claimed that Han Futao still has a previous Weibo account, which was just renamed.
On the 2nd of this month, “New Jing Bao” reported that after a long period of investigation and tracking, it was found that many tank trucks in China transport not only edible liquids such as syrup and soybean oil but also chemical liquids such as coal oil. Even to save costs, many tank trucks do not clean the tank body during cargo turnover, resulting in edible oil being contaminated by residual chemical liquids. The report revealed that for example, a tank truck transporting coal oil from Ningxia to Qinhuangdao, Hebei, did not clean the storage tank upon arrival and directly loaded edible soybean oil for further transportation.
Han Futao was the journalist investigating the oil tanker incident. Prior to his disappearance, the freight platform app specializing in querying truck positioning information suddenly removed the track query function.
Netizens commented, “Whether they remove it early or late, it’s removed now…”, “If not upgrading earlier, if not upgrading later, upgrading now is tantamount to aiding the tyrant…”, “The common people could track the trajectory, but you shut it down, too…”, “Too shady.”
