Recently, a criminal case occurred in Qinxian County, Shanxi Province, resulting in the death of one person. It was reported that the deceased was Guo Moyu, the chairman of the Political Consultative Conference of Qinxian County, Shanxi. The perpetrator had conflicts with the victim over demolition issues.
On June 4th, Qinxian County Public Security Bureau in Shanxi Changzhi announced that on the morning of the 3rd, a serious criminal case occurred in a residential area in the county. A 59-year-old man named An Hong stabbed to death 58-year-old Guo Moyu with a knife. Both An Hong and Guo Moyu are from Dingchang in Qinxian County. An Hong was arrested on the evening of the 3rd.
According to the New Beijing News, multiple relevant departments in Qinxian County confirmed that the victim Guo Moyu was a public official.
On June 5th, “Law Daily” reported that multiple sources confirmed that the victim Guo Moyu currently serves as the chairman of the Political Consultative Conference of Qinxian County.
Public records show that the chairman of the Political Consultative Conference of Qinxian County is named Guo Jianyu, born in October 1966. On April 10th of this year, Guo Jianyu chaired the fourth meeting of the fifteenth session of the Qinxian County Political Consultative Conference.
The aforementioned “Law Daily” reported that there are rumors suggesting that the stabbing of Guo Moyu is related to a demolition incident many years ago. During his tenure as a town leader, the suspect An Hong had accumulated grievances with him.
From April 2006 to May 2011, Guo Jianyu served as the Party Secretary and Mayor of Dingchang Town in Qinxian County; in June 2011, he was appointed as the Deputy County Mayor of Qinxian County.
