On the eve of New Year’s Eve, the owner of Xinqi Gas Station in Zoucheng, Jining, Shandong, was reported to have run away with the money. Residents expressed that before fleeing, the owner had just organized an event, which turned out to be a scam – many people used their hard-earned money to apply for cards for the gas station, depositing thousands to tens of thousands of yuan into the cards. This incident has stirred up a wide range of people, with a large number of individuals gathering to demand justice and reclaim their hard-earned money.
On the night of December 31, 2025, some residents of Zoucheng in Jining, Shandong, took to social media to expose the news of the owner of Xinqi Gas Station running away.
Blogger “The Life of Dawei” posted a video saying, “The owner of Xinqi Gas Station in Zoucheng enticed the common people to apply for cards and deposit money in them under the pretense of ‘the more you recharge, the more discounts you get.’ And then the owner absconded with the money. We must seek justice and recover our hard-earned money!”
Blogger “Strive and Strive Again” stated that Xinqi Gas Station in Zoucheng had been using the logo of Xinqi Group for many years, misleading consumers into recharging before the owner fled. “I recharged XX amount, only to end up losing it all. Xinqi Group’s supervision was inadequate, and they cannot evade their responsibility! With all the evidence available, we only seek fairness! Kindly request @Law Enforcement Online to investigate, expose the chaos, and help the common people recover their losses!”
Blogger “A June BBQ” mentioned that Xinqi Gas Station, located in the Houbali Village of Xinqi Group, illicitly raised funds through recharge activities, causing losses of over a hundred million yuan to the people.
Blogger “Three Sisters” remarked, “The situation in Zoucheng has heated up due to the owner of Xinqi Gas Station running away! I also have nearly twenty thousand yuan left unused, and now it’s closed.”
The exposed on-site videos showed many local residents gathering to demand justice, with the gas station plaza filled with people. A netizen said, one can imagine how heart-wrenching it is for these people during the New Year period, as everyone is eager to recoup their losses. Several staff members were seen registering on computers, but faced with the owner running away, they were unable to provide an explanation, only temporarily calming the emotions of those seeking justice. These staff members were also victims because the owner had fled without paying their wages.
NetEase’s prominent account “180 Angle” reported that after the justice seekers left, the gas station staff promptly removed the Xinqi Gas Station sign overnight. The implications of this incident are far-reaching.
Furthermore, in response to the owner fleeing, the gas station manager stated that they haven’t been able to find the owner in these past days, leading to the inability to fill fuel tanks, resulting in the gas station running out of fuel.
When questioned about the owner’s identity, the station manager referred to the owner as Liu Dewen, while claiming that the gas station had no affiliation with Xinqi Group and was solely owned by the owner himself.
