Shanghai visiting migrants suffer abuse and harm in black jails, medical treatment money stolen

The 2024 Sino-African Cooperation Forum Summit will be held in Beijing from September 4th to 6th. It is reported that the Chinese Communist regime has once again launched a new round of crackdowns on petitioners in the lead-up to the summit. Shanghai petitioner Yu Zhonghuan, who is suffering from multiple serious illnesses, has had to evade the authorities for his safety.

Yu Zhonghuan, who suffers from various severe illnesses, fled Shanghai a week before the 20th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party convened, in order to avoid the authorities’ “stability maintenance” actions against him. With the upcoming Sino-African Summit, he is once again forced to leave Shanghai, as proper medical treatment for his illnesses remains elusive.

Recently, Yu Zhonghuan told a reporter from Da Ji Yuan that petitioners and human rights activists across the country are being abducted and thrown into black jails, where they are subjected to torture and persecution. Having endured various forms of persecution in black jails, he has fallen ill with different diseases, prompting him to choose fleeing during sensitive times.

Last year, just a month before the National People’s Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, he was preparing to take his mentally ill daughter to the hospital but was abducted and imprisoned in a black jail on Chongming Island for “stability maintenance.” The authorities seized the keys to his home, took away 5,000 yuan from him, and even stole the 20,000 yuan meant for his daughter’s medical treatment, leaving his daughter unable to receive the necessary care.

With his daughter suffering a relapse of her mental illness in the care facility, and amidst ongoing efforts to evade “stability maintenance,” Yu Zhonghuan struggles to get her the medical attention she urgently needs.

Due to forced demolitions, the once happy and peaceful family has been torn apart. His wife, oppressed during their struggles for justice, tragically passed away due to illness. His daughter developed mental illness in the absence of proper medical care, while Yu Zhonghuan himself has become a victim of persecution with ailing health. Expressing outrage, he stated, “The Chinese Communist bandits not only seize properties, but demand every penny, even the money intended for life-saving medical treatment!”

Yu Zhonghuan was kidnapped and imprisoned in a black jail, while his daughter Sakura was forcibly placed in a care facility. During the abduction, Sakura was frightened and tortured, worsening her condition.

He lamented, “With the stolen medical funds, she can only receive basic outpatient care and medication. Additionally, during sensitive times such as Beijing or Shanghai government meetings, we are subjected to ‘stability maintenance,’ preventing my daughter from continuing her medical treatment, resulting in a deterioration of her condition. She often cries loudly, disturbing the peace of the residents around us, leading to frequent police calls and interventions by law enforcement.”

“I myself suffer from severe high blood pressure and other critical illnesses. Either I am in the hospital or on the run (avoiding ‘stability maintenance’), always on guard to avoid being abducted and persecuted in black jails while seeking medical care and medication for my daughter.”

Last year, Yu Zhonghuan was brutalized by a group of seven to eight young and strong abductors daily in the black jail. He was beaten, tortured, stripped naked, bound with ropes, his ribs were broken, and he was deprived of sleep. Despite his repeated pleas for medical attention due to high fever, dizziness, and vomiting, he was denied treatment, with the kidnappers asserting their immunity as they claimed to be working for the Communist Party.

Upon his release from the black jail, Yu Zhonghuan, along with several fellow petitioners who shared similar experiences, reported the abuse to the relevant authorities in Shanghai, but were met with denial and dismissal, claiming it was a “study session.”

Even more astonishingly, his reports on local officials were intercepted and received by the accused, leading to further retaliation, persecution, and torment when he was once again abducted and thrown into a black jail. To avoid further insane retribution, whenever the Chinese Communist Party holds meetings in Beijing or Shanghai, or during sensitive periods, Yu Zhonghuan is forced to flee due to his illnesses and the fear of persecution.
