Sing praises to Kaohsiung and express desire to stay in Taiwan: Performance of A-Mei’s songs

MAMAMOO’s popular team leader, Solar (Kim Yong-seon), held her first solo Asian tour concert, “Solar 2nd CONCERT [COLOURS] IN KAOHSIUNG” at the Kaohsiung Pop Music Center on June 22. During the event, she expressed, “I want to stay in Taiwan forever, can I stay here for a long time?” and even asked if she could stay at a fan’s house.

Last year, Solar performed in Kaohsiung as part of a subunit. This time, she brought songs like “Colors,” “RAW,” and “Spit it out,” showcasing not only emotional tracks but also incorporating elements of musical theater into her performance.

Moreover, Solar surprised fans by singing A-Mei’s “Rainbow,” fulfilling their requests for an encore with a group sing-along. She also took fan song requests live and performed her Korean version of “Tears Always Dry.”

During the concert, Solar expressed, “Seeing YONGSOON (official fan club) in Kaohsiung today is truly a very happy day.” As she will also perform at the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC) on July 14, when she mentioned she would “come again,” some fans mistakenly thought she would announce a return to Kaohsiung. However, Solar clarified by saying “to Taipei,” leaving fans amused by their initial misunderstanding.

Some fans expressed their hopes for Solar to return to Kaohsiung, to which she responded, “I am always prepared to come back anytime. But can you handle it?” Her question led to cheers and applause from the audience. She jokingly added, “Because I don’t have a house in Kaohsiung, does anyone have a room in their home that I can stay in?” Upon hearing the enthusiastic response from the fans and a resounding “yes” in Korean, Solar once again burst into laughter.

Feeling a sense of familiarity during her visit to Kaohsiung, Solar remarked, “I always feel like I belong here, like it’s my own home. I really want to stay in Taiwan forever. Can I stay in Taiwan for a long time?” Her words once again sparked cheers from her fans.

In the encore segment, Solar performed a differently arranged version of “Colors,” bringing the concert to a close. She is set to perform in Japan on June 28 and 29, followed by a fan meeting in Hong Kong in July.
