On the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, several Chinese pro-democracy groups gathered near the World Trade Center in New York to commemorate the victims and rescue heroes. They called out to Western societies with urgency, reminding them to “Never Forget,” while also alerting that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is the “ultimate backstage” of terrorism and the world’s biggest terrorist organization.
Banners at the venue displayed messages such as “9/11 Terror Attack, COVID-19, the Chinese Communist Party is the main culprit,” “Commemorating the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 Terror Attack, Protesting Xi Jinping’s visit to the U.S.,” and “Global Public Trial of the CCP Terrorist Group.”
Yang Maosen, one of the founders of the New China Democracy Party, stated that their primary objective was to honor the 9/11 victims and “American heroes” and express condolences to those still suffering from the aftermath of the 9/11 tragedy. However, he emphasized the crucial message they wanted to convey that day: “The CCP is the largest terrorist organization in the world!”
Yang accused the CCP of long-standing support for organizations such as the Taliban, Hamas, as well as regimes in Russia, Iran, among others. He argued that the international community should not only focus on the direct perpetrators of terror and conflicts but also recognize the role played by the CCP behind the scenes.
Extending the sentiment of “Never Forget” from 9/11 to a warning against the CCP, Yang stressed the importance of remembering the disasters brought about by communism. He emphasized the need to sound the alarm continuously, stating, “We must never forget!”
The event’s organizer, Bai Jiemin, revealed that he had been planning this activity since 2016, and it has been held consecutively for 11 years. He reiterated that the purpose of the event was to inform Americans and the world about the CCP’s longstanding support for terrorist organizations, identifying it as the ultimate “backstage” player.
Bai also mentioned unconfirmed reports alleging that Osama bin Laden had received training and funding in China, suggesting the CCP’s supportive role behind the scenes of the 9/11 attacks. He urged Western society not to only focus on the direct perpetrators of acts of terrorism but also investigate and hold accountable those providing support.
Zhao Xiling, Vice Chairman of the New York branch of the Chinese Democracy and Human Rights Alliance, directly warned Western societies. She urged people to question why terrorism can thrive and persist, emphasizing that the CCP allocates significant resources to support destructive forces abroad, a fact that cannot be overlooked by Western societies any longer.
“You must wake up! You cannot continue to slumber!” Zhao’s words were not directed solely at the Chinese people but served as a warning to the entire world.
From commemorating the 9/11 victims to repeatedly chanting “Never Forget,” the event culminated in a unified call to action: to alert Western society and the world at large – “Don’t forget, the biggest terrorist organization is the CCP.”
