“Popular New Tang Dynasty Health Expo Creates All-in-One Information Platform”

On July 25th, a health expo organized by New Tang Dynasty Television, The Epoch Times, pharmaceutical company Sanofi, and Sanofi Community Access Network (SCAN) was held at the Sheraton Hotel in Flushing, New York. The expo focused on skin health and featured lectures by experts, accolades from various levels of lawmakers, and a variety of medical service booths that attracted a large number of participants, creating a lively atmosphere.

The event was bustling with attendees moving around, engaging in informative health lectures, actively interacting with the speakers, and forming lines at various health service booths. Some attendees rushed to the booths for free health screenings after listening to expert lectures, while others sought advice from physicians or installed health information platform apps with the assistance of staff to bring back health knowledge home.

The health expo received commendation from lawmakers at various levels. U.S. Congresswoman Grace Meng sent congratulations and commendation letters to New Tang Dynasty Television and co-organizers Sanofi and SCAN. New York State Assemblyman Ron Kim and New York City Council Member Sandra Ung personally presented accolades, praising the efforts of the organizing institutions in promoting community health services.

“This event focusing on clinical trial education provides valuable opportunities for our community members to gain important knowledge and resources. The organization has been dedicated to meeting various needs of our community, and such efforts are commendable,” Congresswoman Meng wrote. “Your organization’s event has contributed to supporting our community. Convenient healthcare and education are crucial, and their significance cannot be underestimated. We appreciate your commitment to serving the community.”

Assemblyman Ron Kim and Council Member Sandra Ung personally presented commendation letters at the event. Kim stated that many low-income residents and elderly individuals in the Asian community require more healthcare and health resources, making such activities particularly important. Ung mentioned that the ability for the Chinese community to consult with professional medical staff directly in Chinese is very convenient for many residents, and she strongly supports the continued hosting of the health expo.

Dr. Samuel Zhou, CEO of New Tang Dynasty and The Epoch Times media group, accepted the accolades on behalf of the media and expressed gratitude to sponsors and elected officials for their recognition and support.

Dr. Zhou emphasized that health has always been a top concern for the public. Over the years, New Tang Dynasty Television has delivered practical health knowledge to the public through programs like “Health 1+1,” while The Epoch Times has continuously provided health information through health columns and related reports. During the SARS outbreak in 2003 and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, both media outlets promptly disclosed information about the outbreaks, helping many people stay informed and take preventive measures. They aim to continue providing timely, authentic, and reliable health and news information in the future.

Skin care expert Dr. Catherine Ding, dermatologist Dr. Jeffrey Weinberg, and family medicine physician Dr. Tao Du were invited to speak at the expo on topics such as acne care and treatment, clinical trials for skin diseases, and nutrition and health.

Nearly 30 health service booths at the event covered a range of services including medical, health insurance, and community services. Attendees could receive health screenings and consult with professionals on skin health, chronic disease prevention, oral health care, traditional Chinese medicine, neurology, and health management.

Gan Jing World set up a booth on-site to assist attendees in downloading an app that integrates health programs and information provided by New Tang Dynasty Television, The Epoch Times, and other professional medical institutions, allowing participants to bring health knowledge home and continue accessing reliable health content after the event.

The health expo integrated various services such as health lectures, screenings, medical consultations, community resource referrals, and online health information to create a one-stop health service platform. This enabled attendees to gain diverse health knowledge, professional advice, and community health resources in one participation, enhancing their health awareness and management capabilities comprehensively.

Attendees at the event expressed their satisfaction with the well-organized health expo, praising its wealth of content and thoughtful arrangements. Many found the information they needed and pledged to continue participating in future events.

Mr. Lu, a Chinese resident, mentioned that the skin health theme of the expo aligned with his wife’s current health needs. They attended relevant lectures and found doctors they could consult with further. He particularly commended the patience and detailed explanations of the on-site physicians and staff, stating that his wife benefited greatly and they would continue attending in the future.

Ms. Bao stated that amidst the inundation of true and false health information, health products, and various wellness claims, it is essential to find a trustworthy information platform.

“Here, doctors from different fields are invited. Although time is limited, we have gained basic knowledge about many health issues and can bring back health programs and information provided by other professional medical institutions.”

She emphasized the importance of finding a reliable platform or trusted doctors to receive professional health advice. At least, she found this event to be trustworthy.

93-year-old Mr. Tony, drove alone from Bay Ridge, Brooklyn to Flushing to attend the health expo. Apart from attending lectures and having his blood pressure checked, he also came to see familiar staff members and once again donated to support the organizers. He jokingly said that every time he comes here, he has a feeling of “coming home.”
