Stray Cat Sneaks into Stranger’s House and Peacefully Sleeps on Sofa as if at Home.

Two years ago, a family from Texas returned to their home to find a surprising scene: an unidentified black cat had sneaked in and was peacefully sleeping on the sofa.

University professor Donna Muñoz told Epoch Times, “I could hardly believe what I was seeing. The cat slept so soundly, as if it had always been with us – as if it belonged in our home.”

Mrs. Muñoz and her husband suspected the cat had entered through the dog door, yet their three dogs showed no aggression towards the unfamiliar feline; they found the dogs still sleeping in their favorite spots in the house.

The 45-year-old mother said, “I guess this little guy made friends with them as soon as he came in and considered it his own home. I was touched; he felt safe.”

In an effort to find the cat’s owner, the family went to great lengths. From taking the cat to the vet to check for a microchip to asking neighbors, their efforts yielded no results until a friendly neighbor recognized it as a stray cat.

Upon hearing this news, the couple decided to name the cat Jack and welcomed him to permanently reside in their home.

Mrs. Muñoz said, “He was immediately embraced, but we allowed him the freedom to come and go.”

Initially, Jack would come over to the house every day.

Mrs. Muñoz said, “Eventually, as he came in, he would stay longer until he decided to make this place his home.”

Gradually, he formed a happy band with the other animals in the house: Border Collie Frankie, Great Dane Harper, and German Shepherd Riley.

“He gets along great with our dogs,” Mrs. Muñoz said. “Frankie is his favorite; they actually cuddle together, sleep together, and walk together.”

“Harper mostly ignores him, but Riley is fascinated by him.”

Describing Jack as “your everyday cat,” Mrs. Muñoz said he is affectionate when he wants to be and keeps to himself when he doesn’t.

The cat also enjoys cuddling his blue toy fish and sleeps next to Mrs. Muñoz every night.

In the home Jack chose for himself, he lives a happy and content life.

Mrs. Muñoz documents Jack’s adventures on social media, where his videos have amassed millions of fans.

“My fans are very genuine and always interested in him,” she said. She volunteers for a “Campus Cat Program” at a local community college, which cares for over 100 stray cats on multiple campuses.
