Trump’s youngest child Barron arrives at New York University, starting college life.

Former US President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, made headlines on Wednesday as he arrived at New York University (NYU) for his college orientation, putting an end to the speculation surrounding which university he would attend.

According to the New York Post, the tall 18-year-old was accompanied by Secret Service agents as he stepped onto NYU’s campus in downtown Manhattan. Photos published by the newspaper showed Barron, standing at 6 feet 7 inches (about 2.01 meters), in a white polo shirt, black pants, and Adidas Gazelle sneakers, casually carrying a black “Swiss Gear” backpack slung over his shoulder. His first stop before heading to class was the dean’s office.

It remains unclear which courses Barron plans to take during his time at NYU.

Until his appearance at NYU on Wednesday, Barron’s choice of university had been kept under wraps. In an exclusive interview with the New York Post on August 20, former President Trump revealed that Barron would be attending a university in New York but did not disclose the specific institution.

Trump said, “He’s all set to go to a fantastic school, a tremendous school. He’s been accepted to a very good school. He’s a very smart kid.”

Prior to this announcement, Trump had mentioned that several schools had accepted Barron, and he was in the process of making a decision.

Barron graduated from Oxbridge Academy, an elite private school in West Palm Beach, Florida, in May. Since then, the question of where Trump’s youngest child would attend university has been a topic of interest.

Trump himself, along with his eldest son Donald Trump Jr., daughters Ivanka Trump and Tiffany Trump, graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. His son Eric Trump graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Many had initially speculated that Barron might follow in his siblings’ footsteps and attend one of these prestigious institutions.

Barron is the only child of Trump and his third wife, former first lady Melania Trump. Unlike his siblings, Barron has maintained a low profile, as Melania has sought to keep him out of the public eye.

Situated in Manhattan, NYU bills itself as the largest private research university in the US, with over 65,000 students, including approximately 30,000 undergraduates.

For the academic year, NYU had an acceptance rate of 8% and tuition costs amounted to $62,796. When factoring in room and board along with personal expenses, the total annual cost comes to nearly $100,000.
