California Assemblyman Jin Doosik allocates $230,000 in funding for the local police substation 109.

On May 24th, Ron Kim, a Korean-American New York State Assemblyman, presented a check for $237,000 to the New York City Police Department’s 109th Precinct for the purchase of police cars. This funding is part of the $500,000 in public funds that he has secured for the 109th Precinct since 2018.

Kim emphasized the importance of the auxiliary police program at the 109th Precinct as a vital bridge between law enforcement and the community. He highlighted how auxiliary police often are the first to provide assistance when there are suspicious activities at senior centers, small businesses, community organizations, or places of worship in the community.

“The safety of the Flushing community is a top priority in my work, which is why I have provided nearly $500,000 in funding to the 109th Precinct,” stated Kim. “The latest $237,057 will go towards purchasing new police cars for the auxiliary police program, allowing them to be ready to respond to 911 calls at all times.”

Officer Huang, the community liaison officer of the 109th Precinct, expressed gratitude for Assemblyman Ron Kim’s support, noting the significance of police cars for their operations. Officer Huang explained, “Since police cars are in use 24/7 every day of the week, they wear out faster than regular civilian vehicles, usually needing replacement every 3 to 4 years. With more police officers, we can respond to more calls and deploy law enforcement resources effectively.”

Representatives from community organizations, including Peter Du, the chief advisor of the Flushing Chinese Business Association, expressed their gratitude to the police officers of the 109th Precinct and Assemblyman Ron Kim for their support.
