Man Arrested After Crashing Car into FBI Pittsburgh Office Gate

On Wednesday, September 17th, a man drove his car into the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Pittsburgh office gate. Officials stated that this was a targeted attack against the FBI.

In the early hours of Wednesday, FBI Special Agent in Charge Christopher Giordano in Pittsburgh said at a press conference that around 2:40 am, a man drove a white sedan into the security gate of the facility. The man then took out an American flag from the back seat, threw it over the gate, and fled on foot. No one was injured in the incident.

Giordano confirmed the man as former military veteran Donald Henson, who has a history of mental illness.

“We consider this a terrorist act against the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” Giordano stated. “Fortunately, no one was injured, and we will do our utmost to locate, arrest, and prosecute this individual according to federal law.”

Giordano mentioned that although investigators did not find any weapons in Henson’s possession, they consider him dangerous. A few weeks ago, Henson had visited the FBI Pittsburgh office to file a complaint, but authorities found the complaint to be “illogical.”

Around noon, Fox News reported that the FBI confirmed Henson was arrested a few hours later.

In April 2024, a Navy veteran from South Carolina crashed his orange Buick into the gate of the FBI Atlanta field office.

In 2022, a 42-year-old man posted online about attacking the FBI, attempting to forcibly enter the FBI Cincinnati office with a rifle and nail gun. He was later shot and killed in a confrontation with law enforcement.
