The official documents of the Pingluo County Government in Guilin, recently exposed for plagiarism, have sparked discussions among netizens, as even the town names through which the rivers flow are the same.
According to netizens, the “Pingluo County Forest Fire Prevention Plan (2023-2030)” posted on the official website of the Pingluo County Government in Guangxi Province completely copied the hydrological section from Anhua County, Hunan Province, without making any changes.
Screenshots show that apart from the different names of the two counties, the rest of the content is exactly the same.
According to reports from Jímù News, Pingluo County in Guangxi and Anhua County in Hunan are over 400 kilometers apart, and Pingluo County does not have the towns of Pingkou and Xiaoyan mentioned in the document.
In response, the relevant person in charge stated that the plan was completed in collaboration with the Forestry Bureau and a third-party company, and the hydrological data was provided by the third-party company, which may have been used as a reference without modification, and they will contact the company to make the necessary changes.
On July 15, the Pingluo County Government Office in Guilin, Guangxi, issued a notice stating that the information is essentially true, and the county government department’s review was not strict. They will promptly correct and strengthen the review of official documents.
The plagiarism incident has sparked heated discussions online. Many netizens commented, “It’s those outsourced personnel again, it’s ridiculous. This time it seems they’ve changed it to a third-party company, dare not call it outsourcing.” “Even the fire prevention plan is outsourced? Here, we’ve outsourced the mayor’s hotline and sanitation services.” “Almost all kinds of plans are outsourced now.”
“Nowadays, documents are all copy-pasted, aren’t they?” “Document drafter: I thought no one would notice.” “Sigh, even this needs to be faked.” “Even if it’s done by a third party, there should generally be an expert review, looks like the experts were also careless.”
