Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that removing Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei would “end the conflict” rather than escalate it. He also mentioned that reliable intelligence confirms Iran is engaging in fake nuclear negotiations while continuing to develop nuclear weapons.
In an interview with the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) News, Netanyahu was asked if Israel indeed intends to remove Iran’s Supreme Leader. He responded by saying, “We are doing what needs to be done.”
“I don’t want to reveal details, but we have targeted their top nuclear scientists,” the Prime Minister stated. “This is essentially Hitler’s nuclear team.”
Addressing concerns that removing Iran’s Supreme Leader could escalate regional conflicts, Netanyahu emphasized, “It will not escalate the conflict, but rather end it.”
“This regime has brought half a century of conflict upon us, intimidated everyone in the Middle East, bombed Saudi Arabia’s Aramco oil fields, and spread terrorism, subversion, and destructive activities everywhere,” Netanyahu remarked. “Iran seeks ‘eternal war’ and is pushing us to the brink of nuclear war. In fact, what Israel is doing is preventing all of this, ending this aggression, and we can only resist evil forces by standing up.”
Regarding reports that Iran now wants to end the war and return to nuclear negotiations, Netanyahu dismissed this as Iranian deception.
“They (Iran) want to continue these false negotiations, lying, deceiving, and placating the United States. We have very reliable intelligence confirming this,” the Israeli Prime Minister said. “They want to continue developing nuclear weapons, expanding their massive ballistic missile arsenal aimed at the Israeli people. They seek to manufacture two large existential threats against Israel while engaging in negotiations. This will not succeed.” The two existential threats Netanyahu referred to are Iran’s nuclear threat and ballistic missile threat.
“We are not just fighting our enemies. We are fighting your enemies,” Netanyahu told ABC News. “They shout, ‘Death to Israel, Death to America.'”
He stated at a press conference on Monday that Israel’s recent attack has significantly set back Iran’s nuclear program for a long time.
In an interview with Fox News on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said the outcome of Israel’s military strikes could lead to a regime change in Iran.
He claimed that 80% of Iranians would oust the current leadership, accusing the regime of murdering and oppressing the people. He noted that Iranians have long yearned for freedom for 46 years.
