Former Japanese Minister of Economic Industry, Yasunobu Nishimura, led a delegation of five members to visit Taiwan and is scheduled to meet with Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China welcomed the visit with sincerity.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China released a statement today (3rd) announcing the visit of Yasunobu Nishimura and his delegation from the 3rd to the 6th of this month. The delegation includes members such as Hironosuke Nishimae, Noriyuki Sasaki, Kazuo Yana, and Tatsuyoshi Kato.
During their visit to Taiwan, the delegation will meet with President Tsai Ing-wen, Vice President Lai Ching-te, former President Tsai Ing-wen, Presidential Office advisor Chiou Yi-jen, and Minister of Economic Affairs Kuo Chih-hui to discuss regional developments, Taiwan-Japan economic and trade cooperation, and other related issues. They will also visit the Hsinchu Science Park, Industrial Technology Research Institute, and the Taichung Comic Museum.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China noted that Yasunobu Nishimura, as a former Minister of Economic Industry and Minister of Economic Revitalization in Japan, is well-versed in Japanese industry and trade policies. During his tenure as Minister of Economic Industry, he promoted semiconductor cooperation between Taiwan and Japan.
In the current global environment with supply chain restructuring, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China stated that Yasunobu Nishimura’s visit to Taiwan with the delegation will help enhance economic and trade exchanges between Taiwan and Japan, as well as foster deeper cooperation in high-tech industries between the two countries.
