Mayday Collaborates with Energy on Stage, Transforming into a Singing and Dancing Boy Group to Challenge “E16 Squat”

Taiwanese popular band “Mayday” performed in Hong Kong and invited Energy band as a guest on the 3rd of May. This time, Mayday showcased rare dance moves again, singing and dancing to the latest single “Friday Night” with Energy, challenging the highly difficult “E16 squat” and raising the atmosphere to its peak.

During the performance, Energy and Mayday sang the new song “Friday Night” together. When they reached the chorus, Mayday joined Energy on stage to perform hand gesture dances. Finally, Energy’s member, Milk, jokingly asked Mayday if they could try the highly difficult “E16 squat,” to which Monster replied with a laugh, “We still have more songs to sing.” At the end, Ashin called for everyone in the audience to squat together, shouting, “Everyone do the E16 squat, tickets available at every show!”

Ashin admitted during the concert that before going on stage, he actually practiced dancing with his brother backstage. He revealed that Milk used to practice dancing “Little Nurse” with him every day.

Energy was established in 2002. In 2009, they individually pursued different paths but did not disband. The current members include Milk, A-Dai, Shu-Wei, Kun-Da, and Toro. This year, they made a comeback to the music scene and released a new album, with a concert scheduled at Taipei Arena in July.

This is Energy’s third time being a guest at Mayday’s concert. The first time was in 2005 during the “Final Home World Tour,” collaborating on “Sun Wukong + Let Go” on a large stage. Last year, at the Noah’s Ark concert in Kaohsiung Arena, they reunited with Energy, recreating a historic moment and bringing back memories, with high praise for Energy’s performance.

Energy also expressed gratitude to Mayday for their support, allowing them to return to the music industry after 20 years. Their new album “Here I Am” and the two concerts in Taipei Arena “On the Edge” were quickly sold out. A-Dai jokingly said, “Sold out in seconds! We can finally catch up with Mayday!” For Energy, this comeback feels like “back to that day,” flooding with memories and mending past regrets.
