Mysterious Metal Pillars Emerge in Nevada Desert, Baffling Authorities

In the desert area of Nevada, USA, a few meters long metal pillar recently appeared, causing concern among authorities. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) shared photos of the pillar on social media on June 17th, sparking curiosity as to how and why it was erected there.

The LVMPD’s post read, “We’ve seen a lot of things happen when people go hiking, like not being prepared for the weather, not bringing enough water…but take a look at this!”

The pillar was discovered near Gass Peak by the Las Vegas Metro Search and Rescue team last weekend. Authorities are puzzled about how it ended up there.

Gass Peak is located in the Desert National Wildlife Refuge, with an altitude of 6,937 feet (2,114 meters), making it one of the highest peaks in the northern Las Vegas region.

This metal pillar bears similarity to a series of similar structures that have appeared in Europe and the US in recent years. In 2020, such structures popped up in locations including the deserts of Utah in the US and the beaches of the Isle of Wight in the UK.

Earlier this year, a metal pillar suddenly appeared on a hillside in Wales, near the River Wye in the Hay Bluff area. These metal structures often vanish just as suddenly as they appear, adding to the mystery surrounding their origins.
