Fire breaks out at a landfill in Jinjiang, Fujian; flames spreading fiercely

On July 16, a fierce fire broke out in Chidian Town, Jinjiang, Quanzhou, Fujian province. This is another fire incident in the Jinjiang area following the fire at the Huiteng Shoe Factory in Jinjiang on July 9.

A viral video shows thick smoke billowing from the scene, with a large area engulfed in flames and the fire raging fiercely.

On the evening of July 16, a reporter from Xin Huanghe contacted the Chidian Town government and was informed by relevant personnel that “the fire broke out around 5 p.m. today at a garbage dump. Currently, staff are at the scene dealing with the related issues, and specific details are still pending feedback.”

That night, the Chidian Town Administration of Jinjiang issued a fire incident notice stating that on the afternoon of the 16th, a fire broke out at a scrap buying station in Tangcuo Village, Chidian Town, with no casualties or injuries reported, and the fire is currently being extinguished.

According to the “Xiaoxiang Morning News,” government officials in Chidian Town stated that a garbage station caught fire and is currently being dealt with, with no casualties reported for now, and the situation at the scene is still being verified.

Staff from the Jinjiang Emergency Management Bureau informed the media that at around 5:42 p.m. on the 16th, a garbage station in Chidian Town caught fire, with no one trapped at the scene, and the fire has been brought under control.
