Nvidia Invests $1 Billion in Nokia

On October 29, 2025, Nokia, a 5G equipment manufacturer, announced on Tuesday, October 28, that it will receive a $1 billion investment from Nvidia. Following this news, Nokia’s stock price surged by 26%.

Nokia will issue over 166 million new shares and use the funds raised for funding artificial intelligence projects and other general corporate purposes.

Nokia, a Finnish company known in its early days for producing mobile phones, has shifted its focus in recent years to providing 5G cellular equipment to telecom operators.

The two companies have also entered into a strategic partnership to jointly develop next-generation 6G cellular technology. Nokia stated that it would adjust its 5G and 6G software to run on Nvidia’s chips and collaborate in artificial intelligence network technologies.

Nokia mentioned that Nvidia would consider incorporating its technology into its future artificial intelligence infrastructure plans.

At the time of this announcement, Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang was delivering a keynote speech at the company’s developer conference in Washington, D.C., to policymakers and government leaders. Nokia and Nvidia will discuss some of their collaborations and plans at the conference.

In recent months, Nvidia has acquired stakes in several strategic partners.

In September of this year, the company pledged a $5 billion investment in its former competitor Intel and announced a $100 billion investment in OpenAI. It also invested $500 million in the self-driving car startup Wayve and $667 million in the UK cloud provider Nscale.
