On July 12th, global democratic groups and Southeast Asian independent organizations came together for a protest in front of the Chinese consulate in Los Angeles, USA, condemning the authoritarian behavior of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in its alleged terrorist attack on Filipino ships.
Over a hundred democracy advocates from around the world participated in the event, marching with a coffin, tearing apart the CCP flag, and chanting slogans such as “Oppose CCP tyranny”.
Jie Li, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of the Chinese Democratic Party, expressed to Epoch Times that he was pleased to collaborate with friends from organizations in the Philippines, Vietnam, and other Southeast Asian countries. He emphasized that the event aimed to convey the message that the CCP represents evil and not the Chinese people.
“We will work together with friends from the Philippines and various ethnic groups in Southeast Asia to organize more activities to resist the Chinese (CCP) government and unite all democratic forces to overthrow the CCP government sooner. Only by ending the CCP can global oceans and lands be safe and peaceful,” he said.
Ms. Zhang Liumin from Henan stated, “This event was meaningful. At the front gate of the consulate, we did not fear the authorities but bravely criticized the evil of the CCP. Several human rights representatives from the Philippines also joined our march. I hope every Chinese person can become politically aware, courageously come out and stand up against the CCP. Only through our collective efforts can we hasten the downfall of the CCP.”
Rights activist Sun Yong remarked, “The conflict in Ukraine has been ongoing for over two years, with Russia’s military actions devastating Ukraine. The global alliance for justice supports Ukraine’s resistance, while the CCP plays the role of the hidden financier behind Russia in this conflict, turning a blind eye to the domestic upheaval in China.”
He emphasized, “The CCP’s Party Guards neither protect their own home nor the nation. They are the enforcers of the CCP’s brutal rule. Supporting ASEAN countries in resisting the pseudo-Chinese (CCP) government and overthrowing the CCP is the responsibility of overseas Chinese.”
Democratic Party member Zhou Feng from Iceland mentioned, “Witnessing participants from diverse backgrounds uniting and speaking out with one voice at the event in the United States, whether they are from different political groups or ordinary citizens from various professions, everyone is striving towards a common goal: stopping the CCP’s authoritarian actions in the South China Sea and upholding regional peace and justice.”
“I also deeply understand the crucial importance of united international action in countering the CCP’s authoritarian behavior. Only through global cooperation and coordination can we effectively curb the CCP’s expansionist ambitions and uphold international law and order.”
The event was jointly organized by organizations such as the US Pinoys for Good Governance, National Headquarters of the Chinese Democratic Party, North Carolina Hong Kong Club, American Hong Kong Association, Filipino American Human Rights Alliance (FAHRA), National Youth Movement of the Philippines in the US, Canton Independent Party, Yunnan Independence Movement, Min Yue Independence Movement, San Francisco Human Rights Press, Vietnam Anti-Communist Federation, and Friends of Khmer Human Rights Association in Los Angeles.
