Dispute Unresolved: Shandong Homeowner Pays Property Fees with 32,000 Coins

On August 2nd, the news of a homeowner in Jinan City, Shandong Province, using 32,000 coins to pay property fees has gone viral on social media. The homeowner has been in a dispute with the property management company, and the issue has remained unresolved.

A video from Pengbo News on August 2nd showed a woman explaining that the homeowner had been overdue on the property fees for over a year. Upon urging from the management, the homeowner brought a box of coins to pay the fees, which took two days to count. The woman expressed helplessness over the situation.

However, the homeowner’s statements in the video seemed to reveal the real reason behind using coins to pay the property fees. He mentioned that after receiving his house in 2019, he found a leak in the master bedroom. When he asked the management company for repairs, they asked him to pay for the repairs upfront with the promise of reimbursement later. However, after the repairs were done, the property management company refused to reimburse him and directed him to contact the real estate company instead. Currently, both the property management company and the real estate company are passing the blame back and forth, prolonging the issue without a resolution.

After this news came to light, it sparked discussions among netizens, with some considering it “creative” while others questioning its “extremity.”

According to China Net Information on August 2nd, in reality, many homeowners’ dissatisfaction with property services often stems from inadequate service and poor communication. In such cases, homeowners resort to extreme measures to voice their grievances in hopes of drawing attention. In addition, some property management companies lack professionalism and responsibility, leading to a decline in service quality. Homeowners often lack effective communication channels when facing issues, exacerbating conflicts. Property management companies should value homeowners’ opinions and suggestions, promptly improve services to gain trust and support.

As for why the homeowner had so many coins, sources revealed that he ran a supermarket at home, accumulating a large number of coins over time. Due to long-standing dissatisfaction with the property management company’s services, he decided to use these coins as payment for the property fees.
