Hoi Kam Lai Team Announces New Policy Outline

According to the report on Monday, September 9, by the Congressional Hill News, the campaign team of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has added her policy positions on their website, unveiling an outline that contrasts her stance with that of former President Trump.

The outline, titled “A New Way Forward,” outlines Harris’s plans for building an opportunity economy and reducing household costs as the first chapter.

It outlines proposals on how to lower taxes for middle-class families, make rent more affordable, increase homeownership, support small businesses, and invest in entrepreneurship.

In contrast to the “Trump 2025 Agenda,” the outline suggests that the latter would lead to inflation.

However, Trump has been working to distance himself from the “2025 Plan.”

Another section of Harris’s policy stance page emphasizes “fundamental freedoms,” outlining proposals to restore and protect reproductive rights, safeguard civil rights and freedoms, and pointing out that the “2025 Plan” includes a nationwide abortion ban.

Under the chapter titled “Ensuring Safety and Justice for All,” Harris’s team lists a series of plans aimed at protecting communities from gun violence, reforming the immigration system, addressing the opioid and fentanyl crisis, and ensuring no one is above the law.

The outline concludes by promising to “maintain America’s security, stability, and prosperity,” proposing standing with allies against dictators, leading on the world stage, investing in America’s strength and resources, and supporting programs for military personnel and veterans.

The Project 2025, also known as the 2025 Presidential Transition Project, is a political initiative released by the Heritage Foundation advocating for conservative political principles, reshaping the federal government, assisting Trump in winning the 2024 presidential election, and solidifying executive power thereafter.

The core content focuses on embracing minarchism, advocating for a minimal government role in a free society to maximize individual freedoms, compressing the size of the federal government, dismantling large, irresponsible, and inefficient government bureaucracies, and reducing redundancy.

Other concepts of the plan include reducing environmental and climate change regulations favoring fossil fuels, cutting climate research funding, reducing the independence of the National Institutes of Health, ending funding for embryonic stem cell research, abolishing quotas for promoting gender equality, cutting Medicare and Medicaid, urging the government to explicitly reject including abortion in healthcare, criminalizing pornography, abolishing laws protecting against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, ending DEI programs, advocating for the arrest, detention, and deportation of illegal immigrants, and seeking to repeal most of the policies implemented by the Biden administration.

The plan also advocates for injecting conservative Christian values back into government and society.

Critics often classify the 2025 Plan as an authoritarian Christian nationalist agenda intended to lead the U.S. towards authoritarianism, undermining the rule of law, checks and balances, separation of church and state, and civil liberties.

Trump has consistently worked to distance himself from the 2025 Plan.

Trump’s website already has a policy page outlining 20 top issues, with the most significant being addressing border issues and ending inflation.

Republicans believe that Harris’s governing vision will be a natural continuation of the Biden era.
