Chinese Americans Speak Out in Support of Qin Zhenguo Entering Parliament to Change the Current Situation in California

As the November election in the United States approaches, more and more people are starting to pay attention to the political landscape. Chinese-American voters, who have traditionally been seen as “silent voters,” have in recent years actively supported their preferred candidates, hoping that the voices of grassroots voters can influence government policies and change lives.

Su Juncheng, the president of the “American Tainan Association” who immigrated to the United States in 1979, attended a fundraising dinner on August 24th (Saturday) in Rowland Heights, California for Eric Ching, a Republican candidate for the 38th Congressional District. Su emphasized his support for “good policies,” noting that although most Chinese-Americans do not engage in politics, they will actively promote policies that benefit the community.

Su Juncheng believes that Eric Ching can effectively convey the voices of the local community, including the needs of immigrants, to Congress. He hopes that the Chinese community can elect representatives who truly reflect the opinions of grassroots voters. Some Chinese supporters living in the San Gabriel Valley have also expressed their support for Eric Ching, not only because of his excellence but also because his ideals and goals resonate with their own – sending Eric Ching to Congress is a way to have their voices heard.

An immigrant from mainland China expressed concerns, worrying that if American society continues to shift to the left, it would be like moving from one socialist country to another. He hopes that Eric Ching can enter Congress and help bring about changes to California’s current poor public safety and economic situation.

Mao Weifan, a military veteran and insurance industry leader who immigrated from Taiwan to the U.S. at a young age, stated that he has never publicly supported any politician before, but the current situation in America has made him worried. He believes that practical-minded leadership is needed to guide the direction of society, rather than misguide. After observing for a long time, he thinks that Eric Ching is practical and his proposed policies could bring real change to America, especially in the current unstable global economy, where the government should focus on improving people’s livelihoods and the economy.

Kangxi Wang, CEO of the non-profit organization “Chinese-American Innovation,” also expressed his support for Eric Ching, noting that Eric Ching has long been providing assistance to the people in Walnut. He hopes that Eric Ching can bring his past experiences into Congress and address the various issues facing California. Despite not being Eric Ching’s constituent, Kangxi Wang praised Eric Ching for his dedication and support to all communities, regardless of ethnic background.

The 38th District in California spans Los Angeles County and Orange County, encompassing 15 cities where Hispanic voters make up over 60% of the population. Eric Ching stated that after his campaign team engaged with the community and voters directly, he found that serving the people and helping those in need, regardless of ethnicity, garnered support. Recently, he was interviewed by a Middle Eastern radio host and collaborated with well-known Jewish writer and radio host Dennis Prager to host an event, demonstrating his recognition in the community and outreach to different ethnic groups.

Eric Ching expressed his gratitude to all supporters who generously contributed to his fundraising efforts. He acknowledged that elections require both “dollars” and “votes,” and many supporters outside the 38th District have joined in campaigning or donated funds, giving him confidence to continue his efforts.

Since serving as a councilman in Walnut City since 2012, Eric Ching has been dedicated to serving the city. However, this year, he decided not to seek re-election because he believes in passing the torch to the next generation of leaders.

Challenging incumbent Democratic Congresswoman Linda Sánchez, Eric Ching stated that if elected, he will focus on improving various aspects of California, including the economy, public safety, education, and ethics.
