Illegal Immigrant Sexually Assaults Female Driver Causing Car Accident, ICE: Don’t Release Him to Community

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the United States announced on Friday that its sub-agency, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), has requested the Miami law enforcement department not to release an illegal immigrant criminal who violently assaulted an Uber driver and caused a car accident without prior notice.

ICE issued an arrest warrant on February 3rd to ensure that the illegal immigrant criminal, Oscar Ernesto Sanchez-Aguire from El Salvador, accused of sexually assaulting an Uber driver and causing a traffic accident, would not be released from the Miami prison to prevent further harm to innocent women in the Miami community.

On January 31st, according to local media reports, a female Uber driver in Miami picked up the 26-year-old Sanchez-Aguire before 2 a.m. He instructed the driver to turn into a dimly lit alley, then covered her mouth and sexually assaulted her while the vehicle was in motion.

The victim lost control of the SUV, collided with another car, and then crashed into a church. A witness at the scene described seeing a woman trapped in the wreckage of the car, with the driver’s side completely destroyed, potentially at risk of exploding at any moment.

Sanchez-Aguire fled on foot, but police found the suspect’s phone inside the victim’s car and quickly tracked him down. Local authorities captured the suspect shortly after the incident. He is charged with assault and causing injury through negligence.

His bail was set at $1,450 on Monday, February 2nd. He was warned to stay away from the victim and was placed on an immigration detention list.

Sanchez-Aguire illegally entered the United States, and the specific date and location of his entry are unknown.

Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin of DHS stated, “This case once again proves that years of open border policies have led to heartbreaking and avoidable attack incidents. This devil should never have been in our country, let alone been given the opportunity to harm this innocent woman. We work every day to deport illegal immigrants to prevent more innocent Americans from becoming victims.”

In 2019, Florida passed a law banning local governments from adopting “sanctuary policies” that obstruct cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, unlike some other cities in the United States like New York or San Francisco where such limitations exist.

Miami has previously been labeled as a sanctuary city by some federal sources, but local officials insist that the city is not a sanctuary city and work with immigration enforcement agencies. Mayor Eileen Higgins, a Democrat, was sworn into office on December 18th last year, becoming the first Democratic mayor elected in Miami since 1997.
