The Northern California Chinese School Association will hold the “2025 Outstanding Teacher Recognition Conference” on Sunday, September 28th at 2 p.m. in the Grand Hall of the Overseas Chinese Education Center in the San Francisco Bay Area. 35 teachers who have made significant contributions to Chinese education overseas will be honored, thanking them for their hard work and dedication and inspiring more educators to engage in overseas Chinese language education to promote the inheritance of the Chinese language.
This year’s conference is themed “Love in Continuation, Passing on the Torch,” symbolizing the sustainable transmission of culture and spirit. The activities include teachers walking the red carpet, singing, dancing, and musical performances showcasing their talents. Students will accompany the teachers on stage, demonstrating the deep bond between teachers and students. The event will also feature young anchors reading the teachers’ messages, creating a solemn and warm atmosphere. During the award ceremony, the newly appointed Director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco, Wu Zhi Xiang, will personally present gifts to thank the teachers for their years of hard work. Refreshments will be available for guests at the event.
President of the association Fu Qi Jun stated that promoting Chinese education abroad is not easy, and the long-term dedication of teachers deserves recognition. He sincerely invites people from all walks of life to come and applaud the teachers.
Director of the Overseas Chinese Education Center, Zhuang Ya Shu, pointed out that the recognition conference coincides with Teachers’ Day, making it even more meaningful. She emphasized that the continuation of overseas Chinese language education relies entirely on the efforts of teachers. Teachers not only play a crucial role in language transmission but also serve as guides in children’s life paths.
This year’s public relations officer and Vice President of the American Chinese School Association, Li Na Ya, will serve as the host of the conference. Li Na Ya mentioned that many teachers have been teaching overseas for over twenty to forty years, often on a voluntary basis, and they have many touching stories. She hopes that more people will come to support and witness this honor together.
Vice President Liao Xiu Jing stated that the conference has prepared special gifts to thank the teachers and sincerely invites teachers, students, and parents from various schools to join the event. The diverse activities of the event, including singing, dancing, and musical performances, welcome community friends to participate in this grand occasion.
